unior golfers will have a special day again this year at the
administaff Small business classic.
The extremely popular Junior Pro-Am will feature 36 invited
juniors and nine Champions Tour professionals.
The competition is
nine holes, with the teams consisting of four juniors and a pro.
Invitations were sent to the 36 top juniors as a result of their
play in final events of the Southern texas pga junior golf tour.
“The Champions Tour professionals are really giving the kids a
playing lesson rather than just playing golf with them,” said Anne
Jenkins, volunteer coordinator for the event.
“They enjoy it just as
much as the kids.
”
The junior pro-am will start with a 1 p.
m.
shotgun and
Champions Tour pros will put on an hour-long clinic at 4 p.
m.
After
the clinic, STPGA pros will give free golf lessons to any junior in
attendance.
No ticket is required to watch the junior pro-am or to take part in
the clinics.
