he Southern Texas PGA will celebrate its 41st anniversary
at February’s annual meeting at Royal Oaks Country Club.
The Feb.
8-10 meeting is the STPGA’s largest gathering of
golf professionals from throughout the region and is a way for
the organization to honor its 2008 award winners while
also discussing pressing issues in the golf industry.
David Pilsner, the director of golf at Bay
Oaks Country Club who has served as
STPGA president for the past two years, leads
the list of area award winners as the
STPGA’s Golf Professional of the Year—
the organization’s highest honor.
For the second time in three years, Kevin
Kirk was named the Harvey Penick
Teacher of the Year.
Kirk recently left his
post with the Cypresswood School of Golf to
head
up the teaching program for Canongate Golf.
