URLESON—There’s not much that can
stop Rob Couture these days.
No wind too
strong to play in and certainly not the rest
of the field at the Texas Golf Association North
Texas Mid-Amateur.
The Dallas resident shrugged off both to win
his third consecutive title by three shots March 29
at Southern Oaks Golf Club.
Couture’s consistency is what separates him
from the pack.
On a wild weather weekend, it was
appropriate that victory went to the golfer with the
steadiest game.
“That’s how I play,” Couture said.
“I don’t
make a ton of birdies.
I hit fairways and greens.
”
Couture became the first person to three-peat in
a TGA championship since John Grace won
four straight Texas Mid-Amateurs from 1991-94.
