Oklahoma Baptist University will keep current
ties with Yellowstone
Baptist College while also
considering the possibility
of overseeing YBC’s administration.
In its February 3 meeting, the OBU board of
trustees voted unanimously to explore the possibility of a “deepened relationship” with the small
Baptist college in Billings,
Montana.
OBU began its working
relationship with YBC in
1993, operating a Ministry Training Institute program (MTI) on the YBC
campus.
That program is
still run by OBU staff and
faculty through the Hobbs
College.
“The school was founded in 1974.
It’s a very
small college,” said OBU
president Dr.
David Whitlock.
According to Whitlock,
the YBC board of trustees
voted to ask OBU “to consider a more substantial relationship in which OBU
would basically own and
operate YBC.
”
