Wednesday marked
Oklahoma Baptist University’s first Student Government Association meeting
of the spring semester.
The
14 members present welcomed a new member, voted to elect a new President
Pro Temp and to pass one
bill and two resolutions.
Senate Bill 4 was introduced and explained.
It provided $600 for the
International Student Association to host a Chinese
New Year’s party.
Senator
at Large Rayna Dawson
sponsored and presented
the bill.
““The ISA came to
[President] Neal [Ellis],
and they asked him about
getting money for their
New Year’s party,” said
Dawson.
“Together, they
made a budget of everything they wanted to do.
Neal asked me if I wanted
to sponsor the Bill because
I’ve worked a little bit with
ISA before.
I met with Esther Kang, and went over
the budget to make sure I
understood what was going into it.
”
The bill passed unanimously.
