The Healing Effects of Ayurvedic Music
Music has been around since the dawn of time.
It has served may purposes- to
entertain, to relax and even to change a person’s mood.
But for 5,000 years now, it has been used as a way of healing in India.
This is an
alternative science called Ayurveda or Ayurvedic music.
Ayurvedic music is a traditional healing system that has been used in India to improve
one’s heath.
It is said that the vibrations or sound waves that the Ayurvedic music
makes can stimulate a part of our brain called the “pituitary gland.
”
Now, I’m sure you’re familiar with it or have heard it before.
But just for the sake of
quick refresher, the pituitary gland is a small (it’s a size of a pea) gland in the brain that
secretes important hormones that are related to our temperature, childhood growth and
urine production.
It also secretes hormones related to testosterone production for men
and estrogen production (or ovulation) for women.
