RFID means radio frequency identification and as the name indicates, it relates to the tracking of assets.
This system has two types of technologies.
One is the active method and the other is the passive
method.
A detailed information of what is RFID Asset tracking is explained in the below paragraphs.
Active systems
The active system is one of the best methods among the two.
It uses the battery to operate the locator
sensors.
The signals from the assets are sent to the real time systems, and they in turn locate the
equipment and the people.
This equipment use small battery tags to send out the signals, and the
sensors that are plugged into the devices received the signal using the ZigBee mesh technology.
Passive systems
However, the passive method does not have a battery of its own.
The tracking is detected through the
transition that occurs and the areas were the readers are installed are able to track the information sent
out from the asset
