Back pain is a pain felt in the back and usually originates from the muscles,
nerves, bones, joints or other structures in the spine.
It is one of the most
common medical problems and 80% of the population suffers from back pain at
some point of time.
Back pain can range from a dull, constant ache to
a sudden, sharp pain.
Acute back pain comes on suddenly and usually lasts from
a few days to a few weeks.
Each year, some 200,000 back surgeries are performed
and recent studies published in peer reviewed journals show that more than 50%
of operated patients suffer similar pains after some years.
Causes of Back Pain
While there are a number of factors causing natural back pain, poor
posture is one of the most common causes for back pain.
The changes in
occupation, a more sedentary lifestyle and minimal exercising are the other
chief reasons for this ailment.

overuse of the back.
