For nineteen years, Jindabyne
Senior Postal Officer, John
McLaughlin - or ‘Postie John’ as
he became known by many of the
local children - delivered the mail to
the people of the town, come rain
or shine.
Although he retired in June, John
still picks up and delivers groceries
for many of the elderly residents
who find it too difficult to get to the
shops, especially during winter.
