The library has purchased a number of titles
from the Townsend Library Classics.

have not been “abridged” in the sense of
shortening them or imposing on the story line,
character development, or author’s voice.

Townsend Classics strive to maintain the
book’s key elements while using language
that contemporary readers will find more
palpable.

when my father kept the “Admiral Benbow”
