SÍNTESIS: Las representaciones de género de profesores y profesoras de
matemática respecto al aprendizaje de alumnas y alumnos se presentan
como un recurso teórico y una categoría de análisis, que permiten develar
las estructuras simbólicas sobre la categoría de género, subyacentes en
el imaginario colectivo del profesorado de matemática.
Dichas representaciones, expresadas en sus creencias, expectativas,
actitudes, valores y opiniones respecto a las capacidades y habilidades
matemáticas de hombres y mujeres, nos permiten visualizar, a través de
la práctica educativa del profesorado, sus mensajes, su discurso corporal
y verbal, en torno al cual es necesario reflexionar y re-mirar.
