The relationship that is shared between a brother and a sister is perhaps the
most noble of all human relations on earth.
Brothers and sisters hold a
beautiful bonding of mutual understanding, trust and stand by each other through
thick and thin.
Since ages this relation carries a connotation of love, respect
and care.
To celebrate this unadulterated love and affection between siblings,
whole India celebrates a day known as Rakhi.
Rakhi or Rakhsha Bandhan, as it is
called in some parts of India, is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu
month of Shraavana.
If you are wondering when is Rakhi in 2012 then kindly note
that it has fallen on 2nd August.
On this day, sisters tie a sacred thread on
the wrist of their bothers, that is believed to guard their brothers from all
evil.
What makes the day more exciting is a family get-together and exchange of
Rakhi gifts.
But, to feed our career commitments, many of us are bound to live
offshore, far away from friends and relatives.
