THIS WOULDN’T EXSIST EITHER.
FORWORD
My father was a remarkable man.
However, I didn’t
real i ze it unti l it was to late to tel l him so.
He rarely
talked of his early l i f e ; it wasn’t unli t many years after he
died, that I learned some of the detai l s of his chi ldhood from
his sis te r , my Aunt Lil l i an .
Most of the events of his married years with my mother I
learned from my oldest sis te r Jenny, with some fragments from
my father when he was in a rare contemplat i ve mood.
The later
years I was a party to but didn’t real i ze the sign i f i c ance of
most of the events unti l some years later when I put some of
them into their proper context .
