“I am very happy; this day is the most beautiful day of my life.

- Mohammed Hassan, a 14 year old boy from the Mawiya district who dropped out of school to work and
help support his family.
He works in the cultivation of qat, a common Yemeni crop, and is harassed at
work because of his age.
His dream is to continue studying until graduating from university.

1 Emily Sandall Memorial Grant for Yemen’s ACCESS-Plus program
In July 2009, CHF International received a grant from the Emily Sandall Memorial Grant to organise
Awareness through Art activities with working children.
These activities were implemented as part of the
ACCESS-Plus program, which CHF International employs in Yemen to raise awareness about child labor
as well as the importance of education.
