Self control is a struggle for kids as well as adults who are faced with autism.
This includes
but is not limited to inappropriate outbursts, aggressive behavior towards others, and banging
their heads off walls.
To prevent these and other outrageous behaviors one must utilize self
management.
Giving the autistic person control over themselves is often the solution to
control violent situations and outbreaks.
This can also be a valuable tool in learning how
others behave as well.
Self management works so well because the individual no longer feels like they are
controlled by others.
When you teach a person with autism self control throughout certain
parts of the day they will become more likely to continue self control for longer periods of
time.
