General Description
The ECS Inspector is a Corrosion Monitoring Station (CMS) designed to
be installed on the system riser or on a main connected to the riser to
monitor internal corrosion activity in a water-based fire protection system
(FPS).
Each FPS system must be monitored with a CMS such that any
system activity such as draining and refilling is also experienced by the
corrosion monitoring station.
In buildings where more than one FPS is
supplied from a common riser a CMS must be installed on the system
side of the control valve on each of the individual systems.
This will
normally require the CMS to be connected to a main of the FPS.
The ECS
Inspector is designed to simulate conditions where internal corrosion
may develop within the system.
The ECS Inspector can be isolated from
the system riser or main and easily accessed for servicing and
monitoring of test specimens, (corrosion coupons or corrosion
monitoring probes) without taking the fire protection system out of
