The past 3 months have been a
mixture of sad and glad news.
Our President Ken Hammond died in
August and a dozen of our members
attended his funeral.
At the Area
Get-together on Oct.
17th
, we heard
that Arthur Osborne had just died.
He
was a vice-president for the Area and
had done lots of work for the Ramblers
over the years.
On the glad side, the day of that Area
Get-together was a brilliant, sunny day
with beautiful clear views from Alport
Heights.
The large number of walkers
went off on 3 different length walks but
all managed to meet up at the same
time for lunch at the Hankin Farm barn!
Also on the glad side, congratulations
to Rob & Jenny on their recent
marriage, which they celebrated,
apparently, up north around Settle.

was nearly dropped when a
consignment of them got lost in transit.
