Chainman’s Ramblings.
Unfortunately, as many of you will
know John Stone died in May.
You
will find an obituary elsewhere in this
edition of Footprints but I would like
to add my own appreciation of the
friendship and support he gave to
me.
Last December I indicated my wish
to resign as Chairman by, at least,
2010.
I am delighted to report that
we have a volunteer for the post and
I shall therefore be resigning at the
A.
G.
M.
in November.
I still hope to
be active with the Group and will be
p r e p a r e d t o c o n t i n u e a s
representative on other bodies like
the Stanage Forum and the National
Trust High Peak Advisory Committee
if that is what the Group want.
With regard to the Stanage Forum,
attention switched to the Eastern
Moors and it is now almost certain
that the management will be under a
partnership of the Peak Par
