The Enlightenment Drive
The common view of realization is that we practice
until we are realized, and then we are done. But that is
not what usually happens. There is no end of practice. The
view from realization is a re-visioning of what practice is—it
is understanding practice from the perspective of realization.
If we imagine the enlightened or nondual condition as disjointed from everything else that happens, then we do not
truly understand what nondual means because nondual does
not exclude anything. In this view that I am presenting, we are
opening up what usually happens, what has happened, and
trying to understand it from a bigger perspective. That perspective includes the recognition that realization is practice,
that living our realization is a matter of continual practice.
Practice, seen from the perspective of realization, begins to
show its true meaning, its true secrets, which we don’t fully
comprehend for some time.
