Although the title of this editorial could lead to
some confusion about the contents of the article, the
fact is, because of the lack of electricity supply to
individuals and companies and due to the declarations, statements and replies made by Endesa and the
Autonomous Government of Catalonia (Generalitat),
the only thing that is clear is that nature cannot be
held liable therefore, if the only guilty party is nature,
nobody will receive any compensation whatsoever for
the damages caused.
Since nature cannot be held liable, the ones potentially responsible, Endesa and the Generalitat, right
from the start hastily categorised the snow storm as
an extraordinary event with
no precedents, a disaster, force
majeure, etc., blaming poor nature for everything.
