the prestigious tournament series quickly approaching, his question may soon be
answered.
San Jose, Costa Rica, April 17, 2009 -- Who is the greatest poker player alive? Is
it 11-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth? Is it Doyle
Brunson, arguably the most recognizable player in the game? What about Phil Ivey,
who many consider to boast the best all-around game? With the 2009 WSOP now just a
few weeks away, the tournament series? Media Director, Nolan Dalla examined who
should be crowned the greatest poker player alive in a recent exclusive article to
PokerNewsDaily.

In Dalla?s opinion, the best player alive may still be unknown, as hard as that may
be to fathom for many veterans of the game.
He wrote, ?I predict that in just a few
years, the greatest poker player alive is very likely to be someone, somewhere out
there now who is living in one of the 150 nations where online poker is played.
He?
s putting in incalculable hours of poker playing, day and night, on his home
computer.
? Armed with a computer, two or more monitors, and 20-tabling around the
clock, this unknown poker player may have played as many hands as Johnny Chan in
his career by the time he?s old enough to rent a car.
The poker news world has been buzzing about the Million Dollar Challenge between
Tom ?durrrr? Dwan and Patrik Antonius.
The Durrrr Challenge, according to Dalla,
may represent the world?s up and coming players slowly claiming the title as the
best alive.
He explained, ?If the torch has not quite been passed, it has most
certainly been lit.
That flame in the distance is approaching fast and is going to
end up burning a lot of unsuspecting people caught up in the past.
? When many
online poker players began watching the game unfold on television in 2003, names
like Daniel Negreanu, Allen Cunningham, and Layne Flack were considered to be the
young guns.
Now, players like Dwan, Brandon Cantu, Annette Obrestad, and Sorel
Mizzi represent the new blood.
The 2009 WSOP features an action-packed slate of 57 events in nearly every genre of
poker available.
Registration is now open on the official website of the tournament
series.
The schedule for the 2009 WSOP Europe festivities was recently released and
boasts four bracelet events between September 17th and October 1st from the Casino
at the Empire in London.
