were among 51 Pennsylvania Latino students recognized by the Governor s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs.
Students were selected based on their academic excellence, outstanding performance in
volunteer work and leadership roles in their schools and communities.
Acknowledgement of their accomplishments was presented at the "Blue & White" banquet sponsored by the College of Education and
Office of vice Provost for Educational Equity at The Pennsylvania State University and during the 2nd
Pennsylvania Summit on Educational Excellence for Latino Students.

Congratuations to our Latinos of the Year
A lively discussion of the concept of the
Parent Advisory Council (PAC) and
the need for officers from our Washington County parents took place on December 2nd, 2007.
An election was held resulting in tie for the position of president.
A friendly and fun run-off was held, resulting in Amalia Sánchez as our first president of the Washington County PAC.
