INSIDE THIS ISSUE
Following recent resignations, Peter Cooper,
Company Secretary and CFO, has announced a
significant restructure of the Finance team.
Fiona Hudson has been appointed Shared
Services Manager - Finance.
She takes on the
responsibility for the broader transactional
functions within Finance, responsible for Accounts
Receivable and Credit, Accounts Payable and
Administrative services carried out within Finance.
Peter Creighton will remain responsible for
Accounts Payable, managing the relationship with
B2Be who provide ecommerce transactional
services to Danks.
Bridget Hume has a new role of Shared
Services Team Leader, responsible for the day-today management of Accounts Receivable.
Also
developing a range of benchmarking initiatives, as
Finance strives to implement changes designed
to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Jude Prakash has been appointed Group
Finance Manager.
In this role, Jude will take on
end-to-end responsibility for the accounting
function within Finance.
This includes all monthend reporting, statutory reporting, budgeting,
forecasting, inventory accounting, tax compliance
and cash management.
Anthony Hennessy has been promoted to
Management Accountant.
He’s responsible for all
business reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Plus, he’ll remain a significant member of the ERP
implementation team.
But he’ll relinquish
responsibility for daily management of B2Be
transactions and ecommerce development
within Finance.
Leoni Pary will continue in her role as
Financial Accountant, maintaining responsibility
for month-end results preparation, cash
management, import accounting, miscellaneous
charges and fixed assets.
The objective of these changes is to align the
responsibilities within Finance to match the
requirements of the business.
A great example of
this is chargeback.
The chargeback is becoming
more important to Danks every day.
All chargeback
issues will now sit within the Shared Services
team.
The other key objective is to ensure that
Finance is effective in delivering in the most
efficient manner possible and being successful in
the implementation of programs for the ERP project.
Fiona Hudson said: “the introduction of a
Shared Service Centre - Finance, will allow Danks
to gain efficiencies in relation to transactional
processing across Accounts Payable and Accounts
Receivable.
This will allow us to deal with our
customers and suppliers in a more seamless manner.
“On a personal level, I am looking forward to
the challenge of creating one team, the success
of which will be measured by people referring to
shared services, as opposed to Accounts Payable
and Receivable.
”
Peter added it was business as usual, and
any concerns can be raised by calling him on
(03) 9264 5011, Fiona on (03) 9264 5183 or Jude
Prakash on (03) 9264 5012.

Welcome to the Autumn
edition of OneDanks your national newsletter.
As we near the end
of this financial year,
it’s good to focus on
what’s new as a
business.
You will read
in this edition of all the
exciting initiatives
that are taking place,
including the opening of our new WA Distribution
Centre and State Office located in Welshpool.
This facility will enable our customers to
receive the best possible service and provides
us with the capacity to grow the business in
that region.
On behalf of the Board and
management team I would like to congratulate
everyone involved with the move for all their
hard work in setting up the site.
Many of our
customers have passed on their personal
congratulations on how smoothly the transition
came about.
A couple of weeks ago I presented to all our
key suppliers the goals of our business and
how we were going to achieve them.
Included
in that presentation was the announcement of
next year’s National Trade Show & Conference
which coincides with Danks celebrating its
150th birthday.
It’s easy to understand why we
chose a theme of “evolution” for the event,
representing our achievements as a business
since 1859 but more importantly, looking forward
to another era of prosperity through future
growth opportunities and a culture of innovation.
None of the businesses’ past success or
future growth, can be brought about purely by
the implementation of new infrastructure
whether it be Distribution Systems or IT networks
etc.
The only way we will remain successful
as a business is through the commitment, skill
and passion that our people provide.
I encourage you to take time to read through
the stories featured in this issue.
Remember
this is your newsletter and any ideas you wish
to share about your role with your colleagues
around the country are always welcomed.
