Power of Organized & Committed People
As reported by Citizenlink:
“In an inspiring 3-0 decision today, the
California Court of Appeal for the Second
Appellate District reversed its earlier ruling
that would have required parents
to be certified teachers in order to
home-school in California.
”
“This is a great victory for homeschool freedom,” said Michael
Farris, chairman of the Home
School Legal DefenseAssociation.
“I have never seen such an impressive array
of people and organizations coming to the
defense of home schooling.
The team effort
was remarkable.
”
Decision reveals the absurd activisim and foolishness of many California Judges
ExampleforMarriageAmendmentOrganizers
Activist and misinformed Judges can be
successfully challenged, particularly when
there are those who will rise to the threat
they represent to fundamental values and
rights.
Home Schoolers across the nation
can sigh a sigh of relief for the courage,
commitment, and skill, brought to bear
upon the California Judicial System to
respect parental rights in the face of those
who wished their dissolution.
Those who believe in the sanctity of life,
God ordained marriage between a man and
a woman, and the destructiveness of moral
disorder, should take courage
to press on in our efforts to
confront wrong headed thinking
while holding up truth from and
for the ages.
May His people arise in
California, Arizona, and Florida
to defend, protect, and preserve marriage
between a man and a woman.
And may
the rest of us fulfill our minimal citizenship
responsibility in November as well.
MiracleBaby
By Marty Cooper - OneNewsNow - 8/23/08
26-year-old Faiza Magdoub delivered her
babyat23weeksbecauseofinternalbleeding.
When she was born, the doctors at Western
Galilee hospital pronounced her dead.
The baby weighed under 1.
5 pounds.
She
was immediately taken to the hospital’s
refrigerated unit to preserve her body until
her parents could make arrangements.
She
was there at least five hours.
When the parents returned for their
daughter, they noticed movement.
“We
unwrapped her and felt she was moving.
We
didn’t believe it at first,” Magdoub
explains.
“Then she began holding
my mother’s hand, and then we saw
her open her mouth.
”
The cooler’s low temperature
– according to Motti Ravid, a
professor of internal medicine
– likely helped the baby survive
because of her slowed metabolism.
The hospital’s deputy director,
Moshe Daniel, discusses the
miraculous occurrence.
“We don’t
know how to explain this, so when
we don’t know how to explain
things in the medical world we call
it a miracle, and that’s probably
what happened.

Pronounced Dead, But Lives
ForeignMissionariesDefyBanDuringOlympics
BEIJING (AP) - Christian groups
who flouted a Chinese ban on foreign
missionaries are calling their underground
evangelizing during the Olympic Games a
success.
Drawn to a nation of 1.
3 billion people
under atheist rule, several groups sent
missionaries.
“We did see some conversions,” said
Christian missionary Mark Taylor of
Pensacola, Fla.
115 people from 12 countries gathered in
Thailand for orientation before scattering
throughout China, from Tibet through
the far northeast.
Two groups worked in
Beijing.
China tried to keep out foreign
missionariesbeforetheOlympics.
Itkicked
out more than 100 suspected missionaries
last summer, according to the China Aid
Association.
China’s intelligence services
made lists of potentially troublesome
evangelical Christians, and tightened visa
measures ahead of the games.
Rev.
Franklin Graham, son of Billy
Graham, said during a visit to China
this year that he did not support illegal
missionary work during the Olympics.
Using “relationship building” instead of
tracts, the Christians came in on tourist
visas and said they were involved in sports
or cultural activities, which China allows.
One group renovated a school in Yunnan
province.
Missionaries then reached out to
Chinese in one-on-one conversations.
OlympicseffortsamongChristiangroups
were coordinated in 2006, when major
ministries held a conference in Thailand,
said the Rev.
Johnny Li, minister-at-large
for Open Doors, an advocacy group for
persecuted Christians.
He said a DVD
was distributed encouraging cooperation
among groups.
One of the most active ministries during
theOlympicswasYouthWithAMission,or
YWAM, which sent in groups from around
the world.
One group of Thai Christians
went to Yunnan province this month and
danced to Thai-language Christian music
in coffee shops and restaurants.
“They looked for opportunities to talk to
the locals and share about their faith,” said
Sam Sarvis, YWAM’s national director in
Thailand.
After the first week, authorities
told the group there was a ban on
performances by foreigners, so the Thais
went to nearby villages and met people
one-on-one.
“Our goal was wanting to communicate
the love of God to people, not be overt,”
Sarvis said.
Athletes stepped up to lead their own
prayer groups or Bible studies after the
Chinese said they would assign chaplains
to the village’s religious services center
instead of allowing teams to bring in their
own, said Dan Britton, the fellowship’s
senior vice president of ministries.
“It’s a very unique situation,” he said.
“When you assign a chaplain, it’s almost
like saying, `We’re bringing a team to
China and assigning the coach.
’ Well, the
coach doesn’t know the players and only
knows the sport.
We feel the spiritual
realm is the same way.
”
One outreach success came ahead of the
Olympics, when a U.
S.
team was in China
for an exhibition match.
The U.
S.
team
and the Chinese team — Britton wouldn’t
name the sport — gathered in a hotel room
the night before the match for a 30-minute
prayer meeting arranged by a foreigner
who had access to the Chinese team.
A popular government, without popular information, or the
means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy.

a people who mean to be their own governors must arm
themselves with the power which knowledge gives.
