Greenwich Council tenants are
seeing their proposed rent increases more than halved for the
coming year.
The new, lower levels have now been set, following a major injection of cash from the Government after the Council lobbied hard for the
extra funding.
Residents had been told their new rent levels
for 2009/2010 would rise by an average of £4.

Now they are getting the good news
that this average rise is only £2.

Greenwich is also pleased to say it was able to
implement the change right from the start of the
new financial year, 6 April.
Councillor Chris Roberts, Leader of Greenwich

listened to our arguments on behalf of residents
and agreed the funding to enable us to do this.
