Master of business administration What is the length of the MBA programme? This is dependent on the number of subjects you take at a time and whether or not you choose to take extended pauses. For example, a student taking 2 subjects at a time, without interruption, could complete the MBA degree course in 21/2 years. What resources will I have access to? Students at U21Global have full access to a dedicated online library service,whichincludesallmaterialsrequiredtocompletetheprogramme, as well as personal assistance to access reference materials and electronic documents. Other recommended or optional reading materials are also available through the online library. How will I be assessed? Students are assessed through a combination of assignments and participation in class discussions, which are conducted either in teams or through individual effort. Continuous assessment takes place over the 12-week period, and at the end of the subject, students are required to pass a final examination and submit a final assignment. Can I transfer my credits from another University? U21Global will consider the transfer of up to three subjects from accredited graduate institutions to the MBA programme (one subject to the Postgraduate Certificate and two subjects to the Diploma). Transferred creditswillbecountedtowardaU21Globaldegree,butwillnotbeincluded in the student s grade point average. Will employers recognise my qualification? Employers already recognise the quality of the U21Global online programmes. Students are encouraged to communicate with one another and undertake group work through email, threaded discussion, forums and chat rooms. While this may not have the immediacy and spontaneity of the physical classroom, you enjoy a more thoughtful, deliberate and complete expression of a classmate s ideas and greater interaction in an online setting. This asynchronous nature of communication encourages everyone to contribute to class discussions. What is the class size? The average class size is between 20 and 30 students. What is eLearning? eLearning at U21Global refers to the use of the Internet for the delivery of subject materials, as well as the facilitation of interaction between and among students and professors. Students access online classrooms, which provide course content and a variety of communication features, includingmessageboards,threadeddiscussionsandchatrooms. Inshort, eLearning refers to a virtual campus with the full benefits of traditional on-campus learning that is accessible to students any time, anywhere they have access to the Internet. Will I learn as much in an online subject as I would in a traditional face-to-face subject? Our online subjects are designed to offer the same kind of educational experience and are held to the same rigorous academic standards and learning requirements as those of our member universities. Online subjects can actually offer a superior learning environment, because they require the student to be more actively engaged in acquiring knowledge. How do online subjects work? Each U21Global subject takes 12 weeks to complete, plus an additional week for the final exam. A lead professor and subject professor will guide students through the subject content and exercises, which are completely online. The subjects cover all aspects of traditional, classroom-based learning through the creative use of a variety of communication methods, such as email, message boards, threaded discussions and chat rooms. Students progress by actively engaging in reading, reflecting and interactive problem-solving, often in groups. Who awards the qualification? The qualification is awarded by U21Global. Stringent quality assurance procedures are completed by U21pedagogica, the quality assurance body established by the Universitas 21 universities. The certificate awarded by U21Global bears the crests of the participating Universitas 21 universities.
