Two of the nation’s political
dynasties appear to be girding
for a battle over one of the country’s most coveted Senate seats.
Andrew Cuomo, son of former
Gov.
Mario, swept past JFK’s famously press-shy daughter, Caroline Kennedy, in a new Quinnipiac University poll on who should
replace Hillary Clinton.
It’s a reversal from last month, when
Kennedy led 33-29 percent.
The Cuomos and Kennedys
have had bad blood ever since
the bitter breakup of Cuomo’s
marriage to Kerry Kennedy, a
daughter of RFK, amid allegations of her infidelity.
“Mr.
Cuomo was betrayed and
saddened by his wife’s conduct,”
Cuomo’s lawyer said at the time.
Kerry’s brother, Robert F.
Kennedy Jr.
reportedly toyed with
a 2006 AG run against his ex-inlaw because of the enmity.
