English 12 World Literature Course Description This class is a comprehensive English Language Arts course that will build skil the areas of reading, writing, and communication. The text covers a variety of literature selections including Shakespeare, Homer and Dickens. Students will interact with what they read across a wide variety of genres as they gain readin comprehension strategies and make connections with what they are studying. T course also covers the fundamentals of composition and is aligned to Minnesot Standards. Students planning to go on to college can choose to focus on academ writing while other students can focus more on technical writing. The first sem of the course will be spent reading and responding to literature. The second sem will focus on writing skills. The first semester is broken up into separate thematic units.
