FUSELAGE STRUCTURE radio frequency signals thereby protecting the crew from radiation. The radome is hinged at the top to perr. liteasy access to the antenna area. In the open position, the radome is supported by two jury struts, which are attached to the bulkhead at Station 24. In the closed position, the radome is secured by four flush fitting toggle fasteners. The exterior surface of the radome is painted to match the exterior a. ir-cr-af tfinish. 3. The cockpit hood assembly consists of an internally braced dome attacr. ed to the hood ring, which extends around the aperture in the fuselage. The dome is covered by an u~pressurized fairing, thus obtaining a smooth junction at the upper fuselage. Five window frames are fitted into the frames between. the fuselage hood ring and cockpit dcme , These five window frarnes are fitted trith three f orwar-d facing windshields. The two frames, one on each side of the cockpit, are each fit. t. edwith a fixed window and a sliding wind
