Gluten Free Southwestern Black Bean Stew with Sweet Potato Mash Recipe =============================== I am not an indecisive person, if given a choice between a rock and a hard place I use my head and my heart, make a decision and then commit to my choice 100 percent. When there is a difference of opinion between my hubby and me, we settle it in an intelligent, sensible, mature manner – Rock, Paper, Scissors! This particular gluten free recipe however left me uncharacteristically indecisive – I just can’t decide whether it is best eaten as a stew spooned over mashed sweet potatoes or poured into a casserole dish, topped with the sweet potato mash, baked and served as a vegan, Southwestern version of Sheppard’s Pie.

So many people that we have had to break out the air mattresses and turn offices into bedrooms. With our lovely weather and beautiful beaches these people are coming and going so much I feel like I need to install a revolving door and hire a doorman. And of course lots of people means I need to stock my fridge with lots of gluten free food. 4/3/12 Gluten Free Pizza Breadsticks Recipe Getting kids to eat can sometimes be a problem, especially when they are on a gluten free diet. But here is what I know – kids love to eat anything that can be dunked into something else and they will almost always eat pizza! This is a super easy, gluten free recipe for pizza breadsticks that can be used as an appetizer or main dish and can even be packed into a lunch box if the kiddos have a way to reheat them briefly (i. e. a microwave). I made these with my family’s favorite pizza combo – pepperoni and cheese – but you could customize this recipe in a number of ways. For dairy free just add shredded dairy free cheese or you can omit it all together. You could leave out the peperoni and substitute with some chopped sundried tomatoes and some basil for a Margarita version.

I unthinkingly ordered a crunchy peanut salad at a restaurant not too long ago without checking if it was gluten free. I know, I know – always, always check! But I didn’t and had to pay the consequences afterward.

With 5 ingredients (and I do mean 5 – not 5 plus salt, pepper and olive oil – but 5!) and about 15 minutes or so I can make you one of my all-time favorite gluten free recipes. Seriously good and seriously simple. In fact, I was wondering the other day if this was too simple for some purposes. I was asked “If you were being executed at dawn, what would you request for your last meal?” The first thing that popped into my head was this recipe Gluten Free Spaghetti all Carbonara. (And yes, my last meal would be gluten free – gluten is not my friend, why would I spend my last night on earth with something that is not my friend?) But then I thought that if someone was executing me at dawn, why should I make it easy for them to prepare my last meal? Shouldn’t I make them work for it? Shouldn’t it be expensive, and time consuming and difficult? I mean really!

While pho should be a naturally Gluten Free Recipes, often it is not, especially when you grab a bowl at one of those little corner pho joints. Often the broth is made with a soup base which contains gluten. You can of course make your own soup broth from scratch but all that work is sort of counter intuitive when you are in need of a soup with restorative powers. Due to the dietary restrictions and choices in my family I wanted a broth that would be gluten free and work for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike.
