Fraud comes in many different forms. Informing yourself and learning about the fraudulent schemes out there is your best protection against fraud. Remember that the Canada Revenue Agency does not use email to send you information about your refunds or benefit payments, doesn’t ask you to send personal information by email, and does not leave a message with personal information on your voice mail. If you receive an email or a phone call of that nature, don’t respond to it and call the CRA right away. If

K. s MI6 and Israel s Mossad, a Mozilla developer said Sunday. The confirmed count of fraudulently-issued SSL (secure socket layer) certificates now stands at 531, said Gervase Markham, a Mozilla developer who is part of the team that has been working to modify Firefox to blocks all sites signed with the purloined certificates. Among the affected domains, said Markham, are those for the CIA, MI6, Mossad, Microsoft, Yahoo, Skype, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft s Wi

Shaw Capital Scam Prevention : Breaking news is now a raging scam on Facebook http://www. business-standard. com/india/news/breaking-news-is-nowragingscamfacebook/443984/ Priyanka Joshi / Mumbai July 27, 2011, 0:15 IST In the online world, one person s loss may well be another s gain. Scams on social networking sites like Facebook buttress this view. News of the tragic Norway events last week, and the untimely death of five-time Grammy award winner Amy Winehouse, who was found dead in London on July 23, are cases in point. Scams taking advantage of the tragic Norway attacks surfaced within days of the attack. However, Facebook has cleaned out these instances, notes Websense Security Labs. A new social media fraud—‘look at footage of Amy Winehouse just moments after her death’—is going strong on Facebook. “This type of a scam is a survey scam, through which users are lured to complete a survey, in return for which they are promised an exclusive video or footage. Shaw Capital Management Scam Info: Milos Forman To Tackle First Financial World Scam Artist In ‘Ponzi’s Scheme’ http://blogs. indiewire. com/theplaylist/archives/2011/04/27/milos_forman_to_tackle_first_financial_world _scam_artist_in_ponzis_scheme/ It’s been quite a while since we last heard from legendary director Milos Forman. His last effort was the not-so-well received “Goya’s Ghosts” way back in 2006 but it looks like the man behind “One Flew Over’s The Cuckoo’s Next,” “Loves Of A Blonde,” and “Amadeus” isn’t done yet and pushing eighty years old, he’s still looking to make another run behind the camera, with an interesting take on the financial crisis dramas that seems to be pouring out of Hollywood. Variety reports that Forman is in talks to chronicle the original scumbag con artist, Charles Ponzi, whose name now describes the shell game played by folks like Bernie Madoff. The film will be based on Mitchell Zuckoff‘s book “Ponzi’s Scheme: The True Story of a Financial Legend”

Shaw Capital Management Scam Info: Justin Bieber shot and killed No sooner had he shot twice at the police, his chest was riddled with bullets and drenched in blood. The teen collapsed on the road, dead … . . . in the CSI world at least. Sorry to cut the Bieber-haters celebration short but the bloody shootout scene ending with a dead Justin Bieber just took place in the set of CSI where the pop singer guested as a punk who plays with bombs. Real explosive bombs. His first appearance consists of a bland acting alongside CSI mainstay George Eads (Nick Stokes). Really bad performance for a newbie in acting. You can sense nothing in his delivery at all. But his fans love him just the same and seemed to glomp him even more. In his second guesting in the crime-series, Bieber s character, Jason McCann, met his demise in a confrontation with police squads. He s a suspected accomplice in a couple of bombing incidents that killed two and injured many. Met with the police force several

Shaw Capital Management Scam Info:Scam victims get compensation http://www. salisburypost. com/News/021611-PIPS-scam-victims-receive-restitution-qcd By Shavonne Potts Nearly six years after a Rowan County couple duped multiple people out of money through an Internet investment scam, all of the victims have gotten their money back. Sammy and Sheila Biggerstaff were recently ordered to pay more than $56,000 in restitution and court costs stemming from a 2005 scheme in which people gave the couple thousands of dollars to invest. Danny “Sparky” Simmons Jr. of Salisbury was one of the investors. He invested $5,025, all of his savings at the time. In 2005, court documents showed 10 people had given the couple $33,960 as individual investors. Some people gave as much as $12,000. The Biggerstaffs told investors their investment in the PIPS program could earn interest at a rate of 2. 5 percent per day to be compounded daily. The PIPS scheme went under several names including People in P

Warning_to_renters_against_Internet_scams_to_snaffle_you r_cash/ By Rhianne Pope » HOUSE-hunters were last night warned about Internet scams claiming to offer cheap rental deals in Oxford. A number of adverts have appeared on rental websites such as Gumtree offering cheap flats in and around the city. But when contacted, the so-called landlords claim they need up to £800 in advance as a deposit before the viewing. Oxfordshire Trading Standards spokesman Ian Marriott said: “Our advice would always be that if someone is asking for money before letting you view a property, then walk away. It’s probably a scam. No reputable landlord would ask for that. ” Mr Marriott said although officers were aware of the scam, they had not heard of anyone falling victim to it recently, although the Oxford Mail experienced a case recently (see below). He said

"The high number of chargebacks has landed the defendants in VISA s and MasterCard s chargeback monitoring programs, resulted in millions of dollars in fines for excessive chargebacks, and led to the termination of numerous of defendants merchant acc

Michael Dubie Has Identity Stolen By Randy Gyllenhaal Reporter BURLINGTON, Vt. -- An international scam using social media sites like Facebook and Skype used the likeness of Vermont National Guard General Michael Dubie to steal money from victims around the world. Dubie learned of the scam after his staffers found fake social media accounts using pictures of the General. The Guard says the criminals lured women in foreign countries into wiring thousands of dollars, thinking they were donating to help the Vermont National Guard. "It s pretty discouraging," said Dubie Tuesday in his Colchester office. "I think it s even more troubling that they re exploiting myself and other members of the military.
