What does it mean to be faithful to the Lord? What is required to do that in terms of gospel obedience? Paul judged Lydia to be faithful to the Lord (Acts 16). If we read what she did we can answer our own question.
The Philippian jailer in Acts 16 asks of Paul and Silas what it is he must do to be saved. The response was to believe in the Lord Jesus but the jailer needed to hear of Jesus first, needed to be taught. What does it mean to believe in the Lord Jesus?
According to the Bible how does one "receive the gospel?" The first gospel sermon ever preached was on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2. Luke tells us exactly what was done in receiving Peter's word, the gospel, and thus what is required.
What did Philip preach when he went down to Samaria? We say the gospel and that is true but what all is involved in that? What is included in the gospel and an integral part of it without which you only have a perversion of the gospel?
If you were to preach Jesus would you say anything about the subject of baptism? You would if you preached what Philip did. The Bible says Philip preached Jesus to the Ethiopian eunuch and the next thing we know the eunuch is asking to be baptized. Where did he learn about baptism if not from Philip preaching Jesus?
Where was Saul, known hereafter as Paul the apostle, saved? Was it on the road to Damascus when he saw the Lord Jesus? Most think so but read the text carefully and you may have and should have second thoughts.
Most people think Cornelius was saved immediately when the Holy Spirit fell on him. If so why call for Peter? Why was it necessary to send for Peter?
