PICAXE-18M2 Information Introducing the new generation PICAXE-18M2 part for education. . . . . . more memory capacity and features at no extra cost! The new PICAXE-18M2 microcontroller builds on the pedigree of the ever popular 18 pin PICAXE microcontrollers by adding these new and improved features at no extra cost: • Almost every pin is individually configurable, so, for instance, the 18M2 can now have 13 outputs instead of 8 – the choice is yours! Therefore M2 chips can be used in either the ‘traditional’ fixed pin format or the new flexible ‘user configured’ format. • Many extra ADC channels are now also available on other pins, with new support for touch sensor inputs. • The reset and serial input pins can now be used as 2 extra input pins, giving 2 more general purpose input pins for your project. Email: info@rev-ed. co. uk Web: www. rev-ed. co. uk Version 1. 0 14/10/02 © copyright 01-02 The 8 pin Motor Driver Board (AXE023) The 8 pin motor driver board provides 4 outputs on pin numbers 0,1,2 and 4. Pin 3 is used as an input. The outputs can be used individually to driver electronic devices such as buzzers and signal lamps. To connect outputs in this way the red wire is connected to the terminal block at the side of the board and the black wire is connected to 0V (G) at the bottom of the board. The outputs can also be used in pairs to give forward-reverse stop control of motors, so the board will drive up to two motors. To connect motors in this way the two wires from the motors are connected to the pair of outputs (0 and 1 or 2 and 4) at the side of the board. Power should be connected to the board via a battery snap, which can be threaded through the two large holes to create a stron
