The Institute of the Sacred Heart Viale Michelangelo, 27 50125 – Firenze ‐ Italia The Institute of the Sacred Heart, founded in Paris, in 1800, by Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, opened a boarding school in Florence, in 1881, for the Christian instruction and education of young girls. The program of studies at that time offered an excellent cultural education based on artistic, literary, linguistic, historical, philosophical studies. Eventually, the need was felt for educational titles recognized by the State, and so the Middle School and High School were established and legally approved in 1939. To these were later added the current Pre-school and Elementary School. In 1974, the High School became a "Liceo Sperimentale" (having a unique program of classes approved by the State) with three fields of study: Classical, Scientific, and Linguistic, with the possibility of taking the State final exam in each field. 1 Istituto del Sacro Cuore Paritario Scuola dell Infanzia e Primaria, Secondaria di Primo Grado, Liceo Classico con classi sperimentali a indirizzo Classico, Scientifico, e Linguistico Viale Michelangelo, 27 50125 – Firenze – Italia L Istituto del Sacro Cuore, fondato a Parigi nel 1800 da Santa Maddalena Sofia Barat aprì, a Firenze un convitto per l istruzione e l educazione cristiana delle ragazze nel 1881. Gli studi di quell epoca offrivano un ottim cultura generale basata sugli studi artistico-letterari, linguistici e storico-filosofici. Progressivamente si sentì l esigenza di titoli di studio riconosciuti dallo Stato e nacquero la scuola Media e il Ginnasio-Liceo, legalmente riconosciuti, fin dal 1939. a questi plessi oggi sono presenti la scuola materna ed elementare. Dal 1974 il Ginnasio-Liceo è divenuto un LICEO SPERIMENTALE con tre indirizzi: Classico, Scientifico e Linguistico con la possibilità quindi di sostenere l esame di Stato conclusivo nei tre indirizzi.

En 1881 l Institut ouvrit à Florence un pensionnat pour l instruction et l éducation chrétienne des jeunes filles. A cette époque-là, les études offraient une excellente culture générale qui s appuyait sur des enseignements aussi bien artistiques, littéraires et linguistiques que historiques et philosophiques. Au fur et à mesure on a eu besoin d avoir des diplômes validés par l Etat, d ici la fondation du Collège et du Lycée-Gymnase légalement reconnus depuis 1939.
