The second screen on these two cameras is forward facing allowing you to take self portrait shots without missing yourself. The second screen measures 1. 5 inches and sits to the left of the lens of the camera. The two cameras are called the Samsung TL210 and the Samsung TL205. The TL210 is the slightly improved camera that has a 12. 4 megapixel sensor vs the TL205 that has a 12. 2 megapixel sensor. Other than that, there’s not much new under the hood, and a lack of pricing makes it difficult to judge their value. The first dual-screen cameras with a screen on the front and the back of the camera, the $300 TL220 and $350 TL225, were introduced last year. Based on naming conventions, I’d guess that the new DualViews — TL205 and TL210 would be priced lower than their predecessors. — The DualView models include a 1. 5-inch LCD on the front of the camera that lets users better frame self-shot photos of themselves and groups, as well as a feature that displays a cartoon animation on the front LCD screen to grab the attention of babies and toddlers. When not in use, the front LCD fades into the camera body. The

By Tim Moynihan; Jan7, 2010 Samsung CL80 1 of 11 The 14-megapixel Samsung CL80 offers a gigantic 3. 7-inch AMOLED touchscreen that controls nearly all of its functions. These include a 7X-optical-zoom lens (31mm to 217mm), dual optical/digital image stabilization, and 720p HD video capture at 30 frames per second (with HDMI-out). The icing on the cake, however, is the camera s wireless connectivity. The CL80 has Wi-Fi capabilities and direct-from-camera upload features for Facebook, Picasa, and YouTube, as well as Bluetooth 2. 0 support for transferring files to mobile phones.

Even Casio, who really wowed us last year with the compact high-speed FC100 and FS10, is phoning it in. Samsung has let a few new ones out of the bag, but they’re not exactly thrillers. Nice, to be sure, but well within the bounds of the expected. There are two new dual-screen cameras, but I think we all feel the same way about those (soul-destroying apathy) so I’m going to skip them. The lower-end cameras are probably decent, but for their price you can almost certainly get Canons that will take them to school. And the NX10 got announced last week, to say nothing of its presence on the net for some months now. That leaves the luxury ones, which are the funnest to write up anyway.

It is less like camera and more like a camera-phone, packing in everything you’d expect of a modern phone, except the phone itself. Why? Try this feature list: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3. 7-inch AMOLED touchscreen and an onscreen QWERTY keyboard. That sounds more like a high-end phone than a camera. Clearly Samsung has brought its phone experience to the game. Of course, it’s not a cellphone, and the picture quality shows that. The sensor has 14. 2 megapixels and can shoot 720p video. This is paired with a Schneider Kreuznach 7x zoom lens. Once shot, you can send the video and stills off to other devices via Bluetooth or DLNA (a Wi-Fi spec for easily sharing media between devices), upload to Flickr or YouTube over regular Wi-Fi or even e-mail

With the CL80 and TL240, for example, the bottom of the camera has a 7-degree tilt to it so that the camera angles up when placed on a flat surface. That little bit of an angle makes it much easier to get good self and group portraits. Both models also have shutter buttons that are angled forward making it more comfortable and natural to hold and shoot. Typical of Samsung s midrange and high-end point-and-shoots, these cameras are feature laden. Both cameras are 14 megapixels, have 7x optical zoom, optical image stabilization, 720p HD-quality movie capture at 30fps (H. 264 format), built-in HDMI connectivity, and just about all the auto shooting features you could want. The TL240 has a 3. 5-inch touch-panel display while the

In Samsung’s CES 2010 press release earlier today, we saw a new line of cameras and camcorders, and of course, some love for 3D! Samsung TL-Series Digital Cameras The first thing on show was a few new additions to Samsung’s digital camera line-up, starting with two new point and shoot models: the TL210 and TL205. Both of these models contain a front facing LCD display measuring 1. 5”, giving your subject enough time to get their pose just right! Specifications for both cameras are pretty similar: the TL210 comes with a 12. 4MP sensor, and the TL205 with a 12. 2MP sensor. The lenses on the two models also differ – if you opt for the TL210, you’ll become familiar with a 27mm wide angle lens that offers 5x optical zoom. The TL205 on the other hand comes packed wit
