How to Paint Photos on Canvas - Cool Picture Effects Secrets Painting from live subjects can be problematic for many reasons. First, most live subjects cannot hold a pose indefinitely (house plants excepted), so your painting sessions will be limited to short periods of time, and whatever pose the subject strikes will change slightly from one session to the next. In addition, live subjects are vulnerable to conditions like changing light and changing weather (if the painting is outdoors). For this reason, many painters now paint from photographs. The images in photographs are unchanging, photographs are easily portable and the artist need not deal with the hassle of coordinating painting sessions with live subjects. • Set up your canvas in a well-lit environment where you can paint undisturbed. Place the canvas on an easel, and position the photograph on or near the easel in a place where you can see it. Many artists prefer to tape the photograph to the easel. If you re a parti

Hollywood 3D Chroma Key Video Tricks - Photo Editor Secrets Chroma key compositing or chroma keying is a production technique where two or more separate visual elements are combined together with the aid of a certain color range. During post-production, this color from the raw footage, typically green or blue, is replaced by other visual elements not present during the initial shoot. These are usually 3D special effects, such as an explosion or another background. Matte Painting • A chroma shoot is widely used in Hollywood to create 3D chroma key video tricks. This type of shoot generally requires the use of a green or blue background; then the background is deleted during post-production and replaced with the special effects and other background elements the scene requires. A number of chroma key video tricks make it possible for out-of-the-ordinary scenes to look seamlessly real in the movie. Cheap Lighting Tricks - Camera Tricks Lessons Lighting tricks are the basis of many interesting effects in videos and photographs. Unfortunately, many filmmakers and photographers lack the budget to buy some of the flashier equipment, which leads to improvisation a lot of the time. Cheap lighting tricks are put together from items that most people wouldn t normally think could create the effects we see on camera. • Filters • A filter is a material that you hold in front of a light to change the color or to create some sort of effect. Professional filters are expensive pieces of equipment, though, so sometimes filmmakers have to improvise with inexpensive items. Plastic cups (the kind that are colored but still clear) can make interesting color filters if the light is focused enough to go through them. If you need to achieve a swimming effect, then filling one of these cups with water or some other liquid and then sloshing the cup in front of the light is another way to get some o

Fake Food Tricks - Cool Picture Effects Secrets Food as seen on television and billboard ads almost always looks delectable and perfect in its presentation. A lesson to learn here, however, is that food photography is as much an art of deception as it is of presentation. In fact, what you see in food photographs is oftentimes not at all edible. Real food will whither and look unflattering under studio lights, so photographers often conjure inventive substitutes to look like the real thing. Ice Cubes • Special effects companies, such as Trengrove in New York City, sell fake ice cubes made of sculpted acrylic, plastic or pyrex glass for the purpose of studio and photo shoots. These fake (and therefore obviously non-melting) ice cubes can often be found floating in drinks or put on display. Also, ice powder is also commonly used with water added to make a slushy solution. This slushy solution often sticks to drink glasses and beer bottles as moisture.
