Undocumented immigrants —those without active immigration papers— do not have access to the institutional resources many of us take advantage of everyday. This status prohibits access to federal financial aid and most jobs —two obstacles that create a sea of barriers for undocumented students. Carmen Macias and David Padilla are both undocumented student activists on-campus in Students Informing Now (SIN). Most students can rely on the career center staff and department counselors to provide insight for post-UCSC life. Macias and Padilla seek alternatives for the resources many take for granted.
